Foreword from the author

Most of these questions came to existence during the excitement of an SRM implementation. In many cases there was no time to browse through the SAP SRM Library, IMG documentation and other documented resources in much detail. Later, while writing and verifying my answers, my appreciation for the existing SAP produced documentation steadily grew. A lot of the answers are out there, either on help.sap.com, sdn.sap.com, OSS, or the IMG documentation, but they are widely spread and not that easy to query. Rather then stating I came up with new answers that are nowhere to be found, I’d like to present this book as a concise compilation of all need-to-know facts about mySAP SRM 4.0.
Who should buy this book? As the author I would describe myself personally as 60% functional, 20% project manager and 20% technical. You decide. If you are 90 % technical and hope to find secret lines of code in this book – this book is probably not for you. But for all other parties interested in mySAP SRM – whether it is from a project management, staffing, business process or implementation consultant background – I am sure there is knowledge in this book that will help you succeed in your specific area.
My thanks go to Kevin Wilson and Clay Thomas who both convinced me to start this little project; Adam Tysman and Renier Walters for the mySAP SRM knowledge they contributed; all the SAP mentors and colleagues I worked with over the last 10 years; and my parents, family and friends for turning me into who I am.
Special thanks to my wife Nadia Rosseels for her patience and support.
